GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
The GDPR came into effect on May 25, 2018, as the “General Data Protection Regulation” [Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 (see the original document here)].
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union sets measures that must be followed to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data. It defines how organizations handle the data of employees, customers, and partners, and it applies to all individuals residing in the European Economic Area (EEA).
Personal data is considered any type of information that can directly or indirectly identify a person, regardless of whether it relates to their personal, professional, or public life. It could be a name, a photograph, an email address, banking information, professional performance details, purchases, tax identification numbers, educational information, usernames, or IP addresses, among other things.
- The website encrypts customer data (SSL) throughout their navigation on its pages and subpages.
- By using the company’s website for browsing or communication, the customer consents and automatically authorizes the company, through its available systems (newsletter forms, contact forms, etc.), to collect the required personal information (email, full name, etc.) to complete the requested action. Consent and authorization are automatically granted in fields voluntarily provided by the customer (e.g., entering an email in newsletter forms, contact forms).
- The company retains and stores the customer’s personal data as long as the customer remains an “active client” with the company and continues to use its services or products.
- The company does NOT disclose the data it holds to third parties, except to law enforcement or authorized authorities if formally and legally requested.
- The customer retains the right to change or delete their stored data on the website by sending an email to info@blackboxfactory.gr requesting the specific action. This action is executed ONLY from the registered email of the owner associated with the client’s collaboration with the company.
- Customer information might be used for remarketing purposes by the company ONLY to periodically inform the customer about product or service offers or for security updates related to the service purchased from the company (e.g., malicious activity towards the customer’s website by a third party).
- In case of a personal data breach (or suspicion of a breach) resulting from a security gap in the company’s system or unauthorized use (hacking), the company is obligated to inform the Data Protection Authority within 72 hours.
- The customer accesses the website and fills in relevant forms/applications to communicate or inquire about a product or service. The information is dynamically stored in the company’s system and utilized to fulfill the customer’s requested action (e.g., call back request, communication, etc.).
- Upon the customer’s entry to the website, their IP is automatically logged in the server’s logs for internal statistical purposes (monthly customer visits, country of origin, etc.).
- In case of malicious use (or suspicion of misuse) of IP addresses by unauthorized users (spam, hacking, etc.), the company reserves the right to temporarily or permanently block the specific IP addresses or entire ranges.
- Navigation from category to category or to subpages on the website is facilitated through internal hyperlinks (links). If, and only if, visitors are redirected to external third-party websites with problematic or altered content, the responsibility lies with the owner or administrator of the respective terminal website, not the company.
